Essential Oils for Better Nails

Nail health is something we pay a lot of attention to. We get manicures, take vitamins and Biotin, and for the more adventurous among us, there are even nail-biting betas that promise to strengthen our nails with just one coat. But what if I told you that all this time you’ve been doing it wrong? That your whole life has been spent following advice from people who don’t know their oils? You’re not alone in this! The truth is that most of us have no idea where our information on nail care comes from or how it’s substantiated.

Essential Oils for Nail Strengthening

Nails are often a sign of health and vitality. They can tell us about our overall well-being, both physical and emotional. Of course, we know when we’re feeling low because it shows up in the quality or length of our nails, but did you know that there are essential oils for better nails? The best part is these oils don’t just stop at improving your nail condition; they also help with dryness, cracking, uneven growth, discoloration, and more.

Recipes Using Essential Oils for Strong Nails

While you can’t do much for your nails in terms of diet, there are a few oils that help keep them healthy. There are several essential oils out there, but these four should be at the top of every nail care routine: lavender, tea tree oil, eucalyptus, and peppermint. The last two help with nail fungus and breakage, while lavender is an all-around favorite because it smells great. Tea tree oil: Tea tree oil is great because it’s antiseptic, antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, and helps promote healing in tissues and skin cells. It also has powerful antioxidant properties which help prevent free radical damage from environmental factors like pollution or cigarette smoke. It may not seem like much, but little changes can make a big difference when it comes to how strong your nails look.

Essential oils can be used as an alternative treatment or in conjunction with traditional treatments to provide better nail health.

Nails are often overlooked for the powerful tool they are. For example, nails that have ridges or discoloration could indicate thyroid issues, while nails that peel away from their cuticles might be a sign of psoriasis. If you notice any strange changes in nail shape, it’s time to make some lifestyle adjustments.
